CRS 2016 May Alumni Retreat

At Camp Rising Sun   

Meet your campmates, old friends, and new friends at the CRS Alumni May Retreat at Clinton on May 21st and 22nd.  Join fellow alumni and their families in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Activities will putting up tents, other projects to prepare for the 2016 season, and fun for all ages. Sleepover in the tents on tent hill or bunk in twin beds in the cabins. 

Sign up today and reserve your spot at what promises to be a beautiful spring weekend in Rhinebeck and a unique opportunity to connect with fellow alumni, sing camp songs, sit around the council fire and help build the future for Camp Rising Sun.  Space is limited so sign up today.

TRANSPORTATION: If you plan on taking the train to the retreat, we are prepared to meet the Amtrak train #63 on Saturday morning.  That train departs New York Penn Station at 7:15 am and arrives into Rhinecliff at 9:00 am.  Tickets are available starting at $28, but prices may increase as the travel date approaches.  We are also prepared to bring guests to the station on Sunday for Amtrak train #238 departing Rhinecliff at 12:52 pm and arriving into Penn Station at 2:45 pm.  Tickets are available starting at $28.  If you expect to travel by train and will be arriving/departing at a different time, taxis are available at the station.  
If you plan on being on the designated train on Saturday, please let us know no later than Thursday May 19, 2015.

Our activities for the Retreat Weekend:

Saturday, May 21

The assembly bell is ringing at CRS! We'll share a fun day of projects at Camp.   

Noon: Arrive to Clinton. Please bring your own lunch. 

10:00 am: Arrive to Clinton.

10:00-1:00: Help put up tents and work on making Clinton camper-ready for 2016!

1:00: Lunch - Please bring your own lunch or head to local General Store for sandwiches

2:00-5:00: Project time: Clear trails, help prepare main building, scrape paint in Willy/Willhelmina to get ready for a fresh coat. 

6pm: Dinner and evening Campfire 

Sunday, May 22

9:00am: Breakfast and discussion 

10:30: Remove pool cover 

Possible post-retreat trips to local vineyards for wine tasting, farmers markets for local produce, or downtown Rhinebeck for local strolling.
